Nibbana
Healing Spa was conceived to finally bring some soulful,
holistic health and healing practices into the world in a
manner in which people are able to easily incorporate them
into their daily lives. We are a holistic spa
in that we offer a variety of treatments including massage,
esthetics, but also meditation, tarot, channeling, life-skills
coaching, homeopathy and pilates to name but a few.
Nibbana is the Burmese Buddhist word for nirvana – meaning
‘Heaven on earth’ and ‘State of perfection’.
Buddhism is the only religion in the world that allows people
to practice other faiths whilst also incorporating Buddhism
into their lives. In this way, we feel that we have borne
a spa that will not only bring the ultimate state of health
and healing into your every day life, but also accepts you
for whatever life path you have chosen. We can deliver the
highest quality health and healing with the greatest intent
without prejudice in any way. This is our management philosophy.
To nurture, heal and restore people to a level of health and
well being that they have previously not been aware of.
Nibbana has been designed and decorated
with the principles of Chinese mythology and feng shui in
mind. The gold and burgundy striped walls are reflective of
Buddhist monk cloth colour whilst each room has been carefully
painted with a different chakra colour (to represent the energy
centers in the body). Each room has been named a different
level of Nibbana to portray our tireless journey towards enlightenment
with the final room being called Nibbana. Each room has been
decorated with the four elements of wind, earth, fire and
water and it has been done in a particular manner called the
‘I ching’ which in itself is a particular method
of moving energy. The floor is a floating wooden floor to
ensure that all our staff is taken care of physically as well
as spiritually and mentally. The floor has enough elasticity
that therapists do not suffer back strain that they would
normally suffer whilst working on harder surfaces. The ceilings
are covered with a myriad of mirrored fragments that give
the feeling of a night sky and infinite time. Each room has
been respectfully adorned with a Buddha. Buddhist monks have
given this space “Nibbana” their blessing with
a special, traditional tamboon ceremony.
We have tried to be mindful in every aspect of bringing Nibbana
to fruition.
